Welcome to the Tak See Ma Wing Chun Kung Fu Association of San Diego!
Sifu Tak See Ma has over 40 years of martial arts experience. He is a 4th degree black belt in Goju-Ryu Goju-Kai Karate,
opening his first studio in Hong Kong at the age of 18 with the approval of Yamaguchi Gogen. Upon leaving Hong Kong
in the mid '70s he was given the title of "Overseas Master" by Takahashi Kai. Currently, Sifu Ma's focus is Wing Chun Kung
Fu of the Wong Shun Leung lineage, with a Master Certification coming from the Ving Tsun Athletic Association of Hong
Kong. In the true Wing Chun tradition, Sifu Ma's skill was developed, not just in the studio, but on the streets of Hong
Kong, as well.
Our class is open to students of all age and skill levels. In keeping with Wing Chun's street fighting roots, we maintain
a very casual atmosphere while focusing our training on direct and aggressive attack. One of the primary pursuits
in our class is to obtain what Sifu Ma calls the "attacking hand". We believe in simplicity and effectiveness and strive
to develop each skill to perfection, one detail at a time. As Sifu Ma is fond of saying, "You don't need a lot, but what you
have needs to be good."
